In my video on the infallibility of canonizations (I don’t know whether it will be released before or after the release of this article), I gave the controversial opinion that I agree with the opinion of those theologians who place the doctrine concerning the infallibility of canonizations as being de fide and not simply theologice certa.

Something that I did mention is that there have been statements from Popes as Popes on the issue (I will omit the plethora of Popes who taught this before their pontificate, e.g., Benedict XIV, Benedict XVI, etc.). It is not an issue that is “agree to disagree” as some would like. I only listed a few Popes (Sixtus V, Pius XI, Pius XII), but there are others as well that could be listed who state the doctrine more or less explicitly.

In this article, I want to just do a source dump of all the ones I have come across.
